It appears to me that Cedaredge 124 will never reach the pre-registration goal needed to start construction. If that proves to be the case, will Elevate fiber be made available to those of us who have already pre-registered? If so, when will that happen? Thank you.

What can we do to get Cedaredge 124 into the grant cycle? It is frustrating to live, literally, next door to folks who already have the service and see responses like this. Maybe DMEA should take another look at pre-registrations in boundary areas and determine whether the income received from these new accounts would merit redefining the zone borders.

Hi Marcus-We’re working hard to make sure that’s not the case! But, you’re right, Cedaredge 124 has a long road ahead of it before it meets the signup goal. There is a lot of behind-the-scenes work we do to assess zones like yours to be considered for federal or state grant funding. Right now, Cedaredge 124 is not in the grant cycle, but we will continue to pursue any opportunity that fits. In the meantime, we are still pushing people to preregister in your zone and get the word out. I hope you’ll stick with us! If, over the 6-years we expect it to take to build out DMEA’s service territory, your zone doesn’t reach the signup goal, we may not be able to build out our fiber network there.

I'm one of the unfortunate few that is surrounded by already active areas 415 and 427 (which is right across the street), but section 812 is stagnant at 52%. Is there anything we can do to get more interest in this lower populated area? Prices are rising every year for high bandwidth service and I'm wondering if we'll ever get improvement.

Hi Thomas—We feel your pain and understand the frustration! We are working diligently to help zones get to goal and bring fiber to members like you. On that same not, help from people like you has been instrumental in doing that. We have yard signs, t-shirts, info cards, and more all available at our office for members to pick up and hand out to friends and neighbors. Would you be willing to help us spread the word? Just give our office a call at 877-687-3632 or swing by the office M-F, 8AM – 5PM.

Pea Green needs about 482 more people!!! I really hope we get SOMETHING SOON!!! Im tired of not even getting a full 10 mbps with this broadband stuff we have to deal with. Sure would help those of us who are outside of town and who rely on reliable internet (for work, school, etc).

Hi Brittany! Pea Green 128 is one of the zones currently in the grant cycle. We have not received any additional news on the status of this grant request yet. But, we will keep you posted when we hear more!

Hi Robert, I do have good news! Olathe 148, along with Pea Green 128 and a portion of Delta S 414 have been submitted for grant funding. We’ll keep you posted if and when progress is made. But for now, we wait. Thanks for your support and passion. We appreciate it!

Any updates on funding for 148, not a dense area and I'm in a area that needs the service, more rural home businesses and a farm area that makes it difficult to reach the goals set?... Been trying for better service like this for over 20 years , been told soon so many times by others!! I'm all in if chosen to get this service!! One gigabite speeds with phone service and television when available and the monthly maintenance service and support plan will be my choice !! I know you guys are doing your best and appreciate this program is behind built for our customers!! FCC funds rural broadband for more than 700,000 homes and businesses The Connect America Fund is backing the project with almost $1.5 billion. Kris Holt Kris Holt, 4h ago As part of its efforts to make broadband more available in rural areas, the Federal Communications Commission announced that the Connect America Fund Phase II "reverse auction" will bring broadband service to more than 700,000 homes and businesses for the first time. More than half of those will have download speeds of 100Mbps or more, with 19 percent gaining access to gigabit downloads. All but a couple thousand locations will have access to download speeds of at least 25Mbps. More than 100 winning bidders will build out infrastructure in 45 states over the next decade to connect the 713,176 homes and businesses, with the FCC providing a hair under $1.5 billion in funding following the auction (there was an initial reserve price of $5 billion). The bidding process gave weighted preference to providers that offered faster speeds, lower latency and higher data allowances, and the providers can use whichever technology they like to build out the required infrastructure as long as it meets the FCC's standards. Meanwhile, the FCC is set to launch a $4.5 billion Mobility Fund Phase II auction with the aim of expanding 4G LTE coverage in rural areas.

Hi Ginnette, Great Question! We have submitted Pea Green 128, Olathe 148, and a portion of Delta South 414 to this round of grant funding. Now, we play the waiting game! We'll keep you posted if progress is made. Thanks for checking int.

How do the grants work? Do you still need full enrollment if the grant is approved? What portion of 414 was submitted? I live close to 2000 & E Rd. Thanks

Hello Becky, Can you tell us which zones will be submitted for grant funding this year? I'm told that rural zone Delta North 175 has the some of the worst internet speeds in Delta County.

Hi James, we feel your pain! If it was possible to serve everyone today we would. We estimate it will take 5 to 6 years to build our fiber network across DMEA’s service territory. Which means, unfortunately yes, some areas, like your zone, still have a few years to wait and that is frustrating. Please stick with us – we will get there! We truly appreciate your support and patience. I know it’s not easy to wait.

I don't think that I can count on this service anytime soon. I think that I am many years out . Very disappointing.

Oh, my. I've missed a lot of questions, ya'll. Sorry about that! Let' s get started, shall we? 1. Hi, Robert! We have a lot of deserving zones in our service territory, Olathe 148 included. If we could submit every zone for grant funding (and receive it) today, we would! Unfortunately, that's not the case. But, we are currently working through another grant process and will keep you updated when we have more information about the zones and details. Olathe 148 is most definitely on our radar! 2. Hi, Debby! We're working away in Orchard City 112 and expect to be able to reach out to people like you with more information about contracts in about an month. Even though you may see the conduit, there is still additional work that has to be done before we can bring live service to your home. Keep spreading the good word to your neighbors - Elevate is coming soon! 3. Hi Nick! Looks like you and Debby are in the same boat. We are almost done with our make ready construction in Orchard City 112 and will be reaching out in about a month to get contracts. Then, there is some additional construction work (installing the drop to the home, installing the outside equipment, etc) that has to be done before you have live service. 4. Hi, Gumaro! Our first priority is to build our network out to DMEA members. That being said, nothing is off the table! If you're in the city of Delta, I recommend preregistering (it doesn't cost or commit you to anything), because it helps us understand the interest in areas outside of DMEA's service territory. Sorry for the delayed replies, folks! I'll be better in the future. Keep those questions coming!

I see Orange cables everywhere that's a good sign. Is there a estimate when 112 will be up and live? Almost signed up for someone else but I see crews been working hard so I cancelled it. Looking forward to internet I've been without internet for 3 1/2 years. So excited...

I think when you are sitting in your home and see those orange conduits sticking out of the ground up and down the street and you know the black cable has been installed and you are at 91%, well lets just say if there was another service available I would be tempted to move along and install that one. Don't like the feeling of being yanked around. Seriously you have a zone that is 49 people short and you are going to wait. Our zone is ridiculous anyway. Miles and miles of farm land. Just really frustrated

My monthly check in on progress !! Been at this address 20+ years , broadband promises over and over!! We at 148 need a grant to get your service!! The goals set are unrealistic, much like other zones on your map! Let's get this going... You got over 2 million in a grant but left out zone 148 and many other deserving zones!! Updates???

Hi Jutta, Thanks for checking in on your preregistration. I checked your address and you are located in zone Delta N. 175. For some reason, the latitude and longitude was off on your preregistration - sometimes this happens with the mapping system on the backend. We will fix it and get your address assigned to the right zone. Rest assured, we most definitely have plans to build your zone. It may take some time to get there, but we're working on reaching all parts of DMEA's service territory!

I signed up last year. Never heard anything. Checked up this week and find out elevate does not intend to service our area. The zone is now called remote. We can't get reliable internet here. We really need it. Very disappointing.

Hi Melinda, Sorry for the delay in our response! We were at DMEA's Annual Meeting on June 15 - it was a blast, but we're still playing catch up. Yes! We can connect you with Jonathan Nelson (jonathan.nelson@elevatefiber.com) to answer any questions about your property. And another yes! If you have a local number, we can transfer that same number over with our phone service. Thanks!
