Hi Amos. Our construction crews are headed to Bear Creek soon. We expect to kick off construction in early February!

Would appreciate updated information on progress in Montrose W 731. If grant denials for our area are a problem then let us know who we can contact about increasing the bandwidth requirement for a "served" area. We are currently using Elite Broadband (Archnitec) wireless and I am paying for 10Mbs service. I usually only get around 4Mbs - 6Mbs (download). With the significant increase in bandwidth usage brought on by the pandemic (school closures, people working from home, and the current Christmas online shopping season), we experience frequent disconnects, pauses, and infuriatingly slow data transfer speeds. We NEED reliable internet service in our area as much, if not more, than people living inside of city limits and more densely populated neighborhoods. Just because we cannot provide the same potential for profit doesn't lessen our need for service.
Please let us know who we can contact in our legislature to keep our needs in their sights. We could also use links to contacts where we can state our needs in relation to grant approval. Thanks.
Becky Mashburn
Hi, Sherman. I reached out to you directly via email but didn’t want your comment to go unnoticed. I’ve been having some technical troubles here on the message board, hence my delayed reply. Part of Montrose 731 is included in one of our newly approved grant zones. I checked your address that you registered on this site, and GOOD NEWS, it is included in the grant area! We have a very full construction timeline right now, and the ETA for building your grant zone is Fall 2021. Thanks!

Becky, Still unable to activate subtitles. To recap: I have an Elevate set box, and, following your latest message, was able to get to the subtitle screen. It showed "OFF", and no amount of button-pushing experimentation would get it to toggle to "ON". More time wasted. This should not have been a case for heartburn, but it has been. Your instruction manuals were never supplied at installation, but even if they had been, it would have been no use, as there is not a word about how to activate/deactivate this function. Either give me COMPLETE instructions, or have a tech come to my home and get it working.
Becky Mashburn
Good Morning Eugene. Sorry to hear this feature is giving you trouble. I've sent your information and notes along to our network support team and they will be in touch shortly. By all accounts your steps should have worked, so I'm as stumped as you. Stay tuned!

I just had Elevate TV installed last Monday. I have come to find out that I can not get subtitles for the programs from the supplied remote. My spouse is hearing impaired, and relies on subtitles to follow any TV program. Is there any fix for this, or am I stuck with it? Tech support was unable to supply an answer.
Becky Mashburn
Hi, Eugene, another update. Since subtitles is a feature of our TV service and not the equipment, I got word just now that you get to Closed Captioning the same way using the set top box and remote: press the center (OK) button and then go down to Audio/Subtitles. Let me know if you need anything else. Thanks!
9:54AM December 10, 2020
Becky Mashburn
Hi Eugene. I'm not certain what platform you're using to watch our TV service, but here's a start. If you're using a streaming device like a Fire Stick or Apple TV you can access Closed Captioning via the following steps (this is also available on our website in the TV User Guide on page 15 here https://www.elevateinternet.com/sites/elevate/files/documents/ElevateTV_UserGuide_FINAL_3.pdf).
Amazon TV (stick): Click the Select button while watching live TV. This brings up the media player controls on an overlay screen at the bottom. Navigate to the Audio/Subtitle on the Main Menu and press the Select button to toggle it on or off.
Apple TV: Swipe down in the touch surface area of the remote while watching live TV. This brings up the media player controls on an overlay at the top of the screen. Navigate to the CC option in the overlay screen. Click it to toggle it on or off.
If you're using our set top box, please let me know, and I will track that information down for you. Thank you.

my name is leslie and i'm not happy with the zoning for olathe 148 you have been adding to it instead of adding a new zone, why has this been done?? and is there any news on when 148 well see any work on it???
Becky Mashburn
Hi Leslie. It sounds like there has been a miscommunication. We haven't added any new areas to Olathe 148. On the contrary, we've been able to make your zone smaller thanks to a recent grant award. A portion of Olathe 148 was included in our North Mesa grant application, which recently received the official stamp of approval from the State. Due to our current full construction schedule, we expect to be building in North Mesa in the spring of 2021. I realize that doesn't help you, nor does it improve your current internet service. I hope you'll stick with us as we continue to work to secure grant funds to build our network in rural areas like yours.

Hello! We have pre-registered for business service to 2730 Commercial Way - any idea when that might be completed? Has constructions started yet? We are looking at a move in date of 3/1/20 and hope that we have service there by then.
Thanks -
Larry Peeters
Becky - Thank you so much! I will keep this contact info for when we get a little closer. We are current Elevate customers and so will need to talk about the move from one building to another but we are so excited to be able to keep the Elevate service!
1:08PM December 08, 2020
Becky Mashburn
Hi Mickey! Our crews have just moved into the South Townsend Subzone (where 2730 Commercial Way is located) and they are currently building the network. We expect to be providing live service by mid-January 2021, so a move in date of 3/1/21 is no problem at all! Jason Martin, our business rep, can walk you through the entire process. His contact information is jason.martin@elevatefiber.com or 970-240-6884. I'd be happy to pass along the business name and your contact info. You can drop it here or send me an email at becky.mashburn@dmea.com. Thanks!

Hi Becky, we are in Cedaredge 124 and submitted comments for the grant proposal a few months ago. I saw the November newsletter about grants getting approved. Is that true for Cedaredge 124? We are at 19017 Pinon Dr. Thank you for all of the updates!
Alex Labak
Becky, please update for Zone 124 Cedar Mesa. Is the target date still summer 2021? Before the grant approval, it looked like Zone 124 would be eligible sometime after the Twelfth of Never. Elevate will be a lifesaver for our household.

Hi Alison. Good news! I have confirmation your address is in the Cedar Mesa Grant Zone. With our current construction lineup, we anticipate that we will be building in your zone next summer. Thanks!

Hello I live in zone Crawford 58 and I would like to help get more people interested in your service. If you send me signs I will post them all over our area.

Hi Jackson, My apologies, I completely missed your comment. I will have to check our yard sign stockpile. If we are out of those, I can drop some info cards in the mail for you. Please send me a good mailing address at becky.mashburn@dmea.com.

From Eugene Silkowski, 69072 E. Oak Grove Rd, Montrose 81401, Fairview district.
When are you going to do installation at my address? This past summer, I asked, and you said September. It is now November, and the Elevate crews, which were working at 6800 E. Oak Grove Rd in October, have all vanished. Please give me a REAL answer. I have been waiting for three years.
Becky Mashburn
Good Morning Eugene, You've most likely seen our construction crews working in Fairview! They are currently building the network in that zone, and (barring extreme weather or other unforeseen hiccups) we should be offering live service by the end of this month. My apologies if we were a little over-zealous in our original prediction of September - we hate the waiting as much as you! Keep an eye on your inbox because we'll be sending out email notices as soon as the network is fully built. Thanks!

Does anyone know when elevate will be up and running in Peagreen and west of Delta. the map shows that we need several hundred more people to sign up. I am sure everyone out here would sign up if they knew that they needed to.
Becky Mashburn
Good Morning Jon! You're right, the need for people to preregister for Elevate in that area is high. That's why we have been pursuing grant funding for this particular area. Most recently Pea Green 128 and other neighboring zones were submitted for a federal grant program. We still haven't heard whether or not we were a recipient, so keep your fingers crossed. Unfortunately, it is extraordinarily expensive to build a new fiber network in very rural zones with low density. Federal and state grants give us an opportunity to do that while ensuring we continue to make financially responsible decisions. Stay warm today!

TOM HOLCOMB
Would like to know the answer to Bryan Cashion’s question on setting up new emails with Elevate. Transfer from prior service, etc.
Becky Mashburn
Morning Tom! Right now, Elevate does not offer an email service. We encourage you to check out a free service like Gmail or Yahoo. They are typically very user friendly. Thanks!

Chris Peterson
Saw that fiber is being run along the power poles south of Montrose on HWY 550. Does that mean that Montose S515, Rivers Edge Subdivision might be getting elevate soon?
Becky Mashburn
Hi Chris. While we’re not privy to the construction plans of other companies, I can 100% confirm the fiber construction you’re seeing involving our crews is part of a redundant path for a Region 10 project.
1:16PM October 26, 2020
Chris Peterson
Region 10 is from what i understand is working with clearnetworx and deeply digital with underground fiber to ouray. They are completely underground from the rec center to uncompaghre, to county road 1 then to ouray.
What I was referencing is the fiber running on the power poles on HWY 550 South from fire station 2 on to colona.
9:17AM October 26, 2020
Becky Mashburn
Good Morning, Chris! My apologies that I'm so delayed in answering your question. The construction you reference is part of Region 10 project, so unfortunately no, Rivers Edge Subdivision isn't getting service right now.

Bryan Cashion
What options are available,if any, to ease the hassle of changing e-mail addresses with a switch to Elevate? For example, will DMEA offer an automatic e-mail forwarding function so that e-mail sent to old e-mail will be forwarded to the new Elevate e-mail AND send an e-mail to the sender of the change in address?
Bryan
Becky Mashburn
Hi Bryan! Sorry I missed your note on here but glad we connected via email! Elevate currently doesn't offer an email service. It's in the works, but for now, we recommend checking into some of the free email providers like Gmail. Thanks!

Any updates on pea green 128? I live a stones throw from an area that already has your service. My family is in dire need of your internet.
Becky Mashburn
Hi Steffanie! Pea Green 128 is part of a federal grant application we submitted this year. Our fingers are still crossed but our hopes are starting to wane as we've been waiting far too long for news. We’ll keep you posted.

If I sign u for Elevate at https://www.elevateinternet.com/serviceagreement, am I required to sign up for both Internet Service an TV Service? If so, this is a show-stopper.
Bryan
Becky Mashburn
Hi Bryan. Nope! You can opt to bundle our services or just go with internet. Either way, the prices don't change. You can just skip the TV and Phone sections on the agreement. Thanks!

Anamika Carlile
Hello Becky! Any news on the location Montrose 428A ?
Thank you!
Becky Mashburn
Hi Alejandro, I wish I had better news for you. A substantial portion of Montrose E 814 was parceled off into the American Village Subzone, which is currently under construction. However, it looks like your address is located in the part of 814 that we weren't able to include. Right now, our hope is to find a grant program that will help us fund the build of our network in 814 as the cost to build in the remaining portion of the zone (like most of our extremely rural areas) is extraordinary. We will keep you posted!

Larry Bailey
Becky,
I continue to read about grant denials for Cedaredge 124 because we have alternative means to obtain internet service. Am I incorrect in reading this?
Or in reality is it a profit margin question?
Becky Mashburn
Hi Larry, Adam, and Michael! Here is the link to submit a public comment in support of our grant efforts for what we're calling Cedar Mesa: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfXMiMT_2pUNFo2q5j6fzACQvkBxCniBX1oNbWoYrpk5bSAMQ/viewform. Be sure to note the following as the Grant Name/Application number - Cedar Mesa, application number S-2020-05. In regards to how the funding committee determines if an area is already served, that has been one of our biggest frustrations. Self-reporting by telecom companies has been the primary means of identifying funding areas, but there are also some cases where small portions of infrastructure get 'counted' too. In general, most of the grant programs we apply to list either 10 Mbps/1 Mbps or 25 Mbps/3 Mbps as "served." Of course, we know those speeds are not truly adequate in today's world and we're actively working with legislators to up the threshold. In the meantime, though, real experiences shared by real people like all of you is our most powerful way to demonstrate the true need!
11:46PM August 12, 2020
Adam Randlett
Becky, please include me when you distribute the link, I would be happy to post a comment for the new grant.
2:32PM August 11, 2020
Michael Warner
Hello Becky! I see in your response to Larry Bailey that Cedaredge 124 has "adequate high-speed service" available. What speed represents adequate high-speed service? We in the Cedaredge 124 zone on Cedar Mesa often experience no internet service to limited (very, very slow) service to somewhat acceptable service which is very rare.
9:15AM August 06, 2020
Becky Mashburn
Hi Larry. Good timing! We resubmitted a portion of Cedaredge 124 and have just entered the public comment period. We're game planning today on the best way to get in touch with people like you asking them to submit a comment in support of our efforts. Once I have all the information, I'll shoot you an email with the link and some info. We had been denied in the past because they believed the current provider had adequate high-speed service (I know how hard that is to believe)!
11:46AM August 04, 2020
Chris Peterson
Any updates on grants or anything for Montrose S 515?
Becky Mashburn
Hi Chris. Not yet. We have a southern portion of Montrose in a current grant cycle but it's not part of Montrose S 515. I'll keep you posted as we conclude this year's cycle and start planning for next year. Thanks for sticking with us.

Wilhelmina Terrell
We live on Cedar Road, zone Pea Green 128. We are in dire need for high speed internet to accommodate homeschooling and home-based virtual work. We were told by one of your customers that she heard she could just call and ask for her service to be set up and she now has had service for a year.
Becky Mashburn
Hi Wilhelmina! Unfortunately, our network isn't built yet in Pea Green 128. I'm happy to hear you were referred by a current customer, but I do so hate being the bearer of bad news that we can't serve your neighborhood yet. We are keeping your zone in the forefront of our grant efforts though. I'll keep you posted if anything changes. Thank you!

HI! I put out a message over a month ago and have had no response so Im trying here... We live in Crawford 58. Im getting mixed messages from people in area and was told about a year + ago that we should have Elevate in about 1 1/2 - 2 years. There have been trucks in our 58 area putting in lines, one even stopped here for directions and husband helped. Can you give me an update on status of possibly when we should get Elevate. thanks.
Sherri & Rodger Polson
Thank you Becky!! So to clarify in my mind, there is no ETA on when we (58) will get elevate until you have a grant approved? Can I ask why it keeps being denied? Anything we can do? Thank you! Sherri
9:46AM July 14, 2020
Becky Mashburn
Good Morning Sherri & Rodger! You’ve most likely seen work in the Crawford area recently because we began building Crawford 57 Grant Zone earlier this year. We’re now providing live service in that zone too! We did carve out a portion of Crawford 58 for a grant application. Unfortunately, our request was denied twice. I’m sorry you’ve received confusing messages.

Cedaredge 124? I live on Hanson Road....elevate service is 2 blocks west of my house on Surface Creek Road....we have 9 people in this little area waiting for and or interested in your service...your representative came out to my house last winter we drove around he said he would look into forming a small service zone for the people in this little area....any updates from you folks...thanks Dave Rosenberg.
Becky Mashburn
Hi David. There is an update, but unfortunately, it’s not a good one. We had carved out a portion of Cedaredge 124 for a grant application. Our request was denied for your area at the end of 2019 however. It was disappointing news for us, but we’ll keep trying!

I left a question a month ago and never got a reply. I live at 69072 E. Oak Grove Road, Montrose, in the Fairview district (county). When will you begin installation? I have been waiting for 2 1/2 years. Please reply.
Eugene Silkowski
Becky Mashburn
Oh my, Eugene! My apologies. I’m so sorry I missed your question. Fairview is one our lucky grant zones and our crews will begin constructing our network there within the month. It takes a few months to fully buildout a zone and install electronics. Then, we’ll be ready to provide you with live service.

Thanks!

Becky Mashburn
Good Morning, Chris! My apologies that I'm so delayed in answering your question. The construction you reference is part of Region 10 project, so unfortunately no, Rivers Edge Subdivision isn't getting service right now.

Bryan

8:17AM October 26, 2020
Becky Mashburn
Hi Steffanie! Pea Green 128 is part of a federal grant application we submitted this year. Our fingers are still crossed but our hopes are starting to wane as we've been waiting far too long for news. We’ll keep you posted.

Becky If I sign u for Elevate at https://www.elevateinternet.com/serviceagreement, am I required to sign up for both Internet Service an TV Service? If so, this is a show-stopper. Bryan
8:24AM September 11, 2020
Becky Mashburn
Hi Bryan. Nope! You can opt to bundle our services or just go with internet. Either way, the prices don't change. You can just skip the TV and Phone sections on the agreement. Thanks!

Hi Becky, we're excited to be moving soon and joining the Montrose community! Any word on Montrose E 814? Thank you!
10:04AM September 21, 2020
Becky Mashburn
Hi Alejandro, I wish I had better news for you. A substantial portion of Montrose E 814 was parceled off into the American Village Subzone, which is currently under construction. However, it looks like your address is located in the part of 814 that we weren't able to include. Right now, our hope is to find a grant program that will help us fund the build of our network in 814 as the cost to build in the remaining portion of the zone (like most of our extremely rural areas) is extraordinary. We will keep you posted!

Becky, I continue to read about grant denials for Cedaredge 124 because we have alternative means to obtain internet service. Am I incorrect in reading this? Or in reality is it a profit margin question?

Becky, please include me when you distribute the link, I would be happy to post a comment for the new grant.

Any updates on grants or anything for Montrose S 515?
9:17AM August 06, 2020
Becky Mashburn
Hi Chris. Not yet. We have a southern portion of Montrose in a current grant cycle but it's not part of Montrose S 515. I'll keep you posted as we conclude this year's cycle and start planning for next year. Thanks for sticking with us.

Wilhelmina Terrell
We live on Cedar Road, zone Pea Green 128. We are in dire need for high speed internet to accommodate homeschooling and home-based virtual work. We were told by one of your customers that she heard she could just call and ask for her service to be set up and she now has had service for a year.
7:24PM August 03, 2020

3:40PM July 02, 2020
Becky Mashburn
Oh my, Eugene! My apologies. I’m so sorry I missed your question. Fairview is one our lucky grant zones and our crews will begin constructing our network there within the month. It takes a few months to fully buildout a zone and install electronics. Then, we’ll be ready to provide you with live service.
